Synopsis
The story begins with a young woman arriving at her in-laws’ village home with her husband. While the family welcomes her with warmth and excitement, the house harbors a dark secret. Inside the premises stands a 200-year-old temple and a locked room that the villagers fear and remain curious about.
According to local legends, many years ago, a man named Mahendranath was bitten by a snake on his wedding night inside that very room. In a desperate attempt to retaliate, his wife threw her sindoor (vermilion) container at the snake. Since then, the room has been sealed off and believed to be cursed. Years later, a man once tried to force open the door, but soon after, he mysteriously lost his sanity and died.
Meanwhile, preparations for an annual religious festival begin at the house, planned to last for a week. However, tension arises when one of the family members brings a real estate promoter from the city to measure the land, intending to sell the property. The temple priest warns everyone that such actions during the festival could anger the goddess, Maa Manisha. Despite his warnings, no one takes him seriously.
Things take a dark turn when the promoter approaches the locked room and is seen making a suspicious phone call about it. It becomes evident that he has a hidden agenda behind buying the property. Suddenly, a venomous snake appears, and out of fear, he throws a heavy object at it, killing the serpent. This event triggers a chain of terrifying and supernatural occurrences.
